Hi everyone and thanks for listening to episode 16 of the Learn With Lels podcast.

In this episode, I spoke with Raven Lacerte, a Carrier First Nation woman who is a co-founder of the Moose Hide Campaign, a movement that is fighting to end violence toward women and children, with a special focus on Indigenous women and children.

In our conversation, we talked about:

  • why Indigenous women are more likely to experience violence;

  • what the Moose Hide Campaign is doing to stop violence toward Indigenous and non-Indigenous women and children; and

  • what listeners can do to help.

We also talked a bit about Indigenous practices, culture, and values, and why it’s so important for Canadians to learn about the true history of our country.
