Welcome back to the Learn With Lels podcast!

On this episode, I spoke with Brianna Nelson, the founder of the Womxn of Colour Durham Collective (WOCDC), an organization that looks to build an inclusive community for young women of colour in Durham. In our conversation, Brianna talked about:

  • how moving from a diverse community to Whitby, where she was an obvious minority, impacted her life;

  • what the WOCDC does, what it was like starting it, and some of the pushback they’ve received; and

  • Brianna’s hopes for the future of the WOCDC and Durham as a whole.

I can certainly relate to Brianna’s experience being a minority in Durham, and it was great to hear her perspective and what she’s doing to make positive changes.

I hope you enjoy this conversation, and thanks for listening!
